About Provenance

Provenance means "place of origin"

Owners and winemakers Scott Ireland and Sam Vogel are obsessed with making wines that showcase their origin
- their “provenance”. Balance, purity and place form the overarching philosophy that drives their winemaking decisions. The health of the vineyard soils allows them to grow grapes that truly represent their vineyard
provenance. As part of their “light touch” vineyard farming, they use compost where necessary.

Thanks to a decade-long search, Provenance now has a patchwork of vineyards across South West Victoria
to grow cool climate varieties of Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Shiraz, amongst others. But the search
is far from over, and the Provenance team is always on the lookout for the perfect combination of variety and
site.
