About Le Caniette
Le Caniette was founded by Raffaele Vagner who in 1897 acquired the land and adjoining house in the area of Ripatransone known as “ the Caniette “ where he moved with his family.
In the pursing years he planted the first rows of vines focusing on indigenous varietals and realising the birth of the family wine production in its own right. The wine business becomes the main company activity with Raffaele Vagner the driving force.
In 1990 comes the definitive entry into organic wine production along with Raffaele’s son Giovanni. They produce and market the first bottles of Rosso Piceno under the brand Le Caniette.
In 2002 Raffaelel gives the reins of company to his sons Giovanni and Luigino. In 2007 it is inaugurated the new building that houses the two barrel rooms and tasting room inspired by a modern and functional design.
The production focuses on 6 labels which enhance the potential of indigenous grapes grown using modern techniques of cultivation and vinification guided by the wisdom of the fathers.
