Centuries-old winemaking savoir-faire
Laurent Delaunay and Dominique Gruhier, fifth generation of the Delaunay family and cousins, joined forces to create Grand Calcaire, a contemporary interpretation of the fine wines from Chablis.
It is from the sum of their vocations, their know-how and their passions that this desire to create their own interpretation of one of the most famous fresh and mineral wines in the world was born.
In their quest for absolute purity, Laurent and Dominique have often selected shaded north-facing plots as well as the misty slopes with Kimmeridgian clay-limestone marl soil.
It is this typical ‘cool terroir’ character that they seek to allow them to craft singular, lively wines.
