Italy's Prosecco DOC Consortium's proposal to amend the disciplinary rules for the production of Prosecco DOC to include Rosé was approved last year by Italy's Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies’ National Wine Committee, with sales of Prosecco DOC Rosé authorised as of 01 January.

We've just taken our first delivery of Astoria's Prosecco DOC Rosé Millesimato 2019 Extra Dry Sparkling, and we're sure it'll be the wine on everyone's lips this summer!

So what makes a genuine Prosecco DOC Rosé?
Here are the specifications outlined by the Consortium:

- Grape varieties allowed: Glera and 10%-15% Pinot Nero
- Yields: 18 tons/hectare for Glera and 13.5 tons/hectare for Pinot Nero
- Second fermentation – Martinotti/Charmat Method: minimum of 60 days
- Colour: pink more or less intense, shining, and with a persistent foam
- Residual sugar: from Brut Nature to Extra Dry
- The label must state the word “Millesimato” and the vintage (minimum of 85% of the grapes from that year)

Astoria's Prosecco DOC Rose' Millesimato 2019 is produced on the Astoria "Val de Brun" Estate in the heart of the Prosecco DOCG zone, Conegliano Valdobbiadene, from Glera and Pinot Nero grapes grown on 15 year old vines. The red grapes are partly vinified separately and with a short maceration, giving the wine it's colour, character, scent and body...

This beautiful, pale pink wine gives a minute and persistent perlage, a rich and elegant floral, fruity bouquet and a mouth-filling taste that's pleasantly dense and balanced.
Just made for Valentine's Day but perfect to enjoy all through summer!.

Available in two distinct and elegant bottle options - Butterfly or Velere. 

Serve chilled as an aperitif or as a unique accompaniment to seafood, pizza and light pasta dishes.
